So you’re interested in online therapy but don’t quite know how it works. Fear not, we’re here to explain!

We kinda like to compare it to when online dating first became a thing awhile back (hello Hinge and Bumble). Remember how we were all like ‘Ahhhh that’s weird I’d rather meet someone organically!’ (You’re totally laughing right now cause you said this!). Yet here we are, swiping away, sliding into those DMs.

So how does online therapy work?

We like to keep it simple.

Use our easy online booking system to schedule your first appointment.

The system allows you to access our calendar and book an appointment date/time that suits your schedule. You’ll also receive an e-mail confirming your appointment, and giving you instructions on how to access the video session.

Complete our online intake form.

Once you create an account, you’ll receive a link to complete the intake form before your first session. Everything is done through the secure booking system, so yes, no printing or scanning required!

Click on the link provided by e-mail at the time of your session.

You can access the session through your online client account OR you’ll also get an automated email 30 minutes before your appointment that will contain a link to access the session.

 

What about receipts & payment?

At the end of your appointment, you’ll book your next session with your therapist and you’ll have the option to submit payment by credit card or e-transfer.

If you choose credit, your therapist will send you an invoice by e-mail that will allow you to pay your balance through a secure, encrypted system. If you prefer e-transfer, you would simply send the transfer to the email address provided.

After payment is processed, you’ll receive a receipt by email with all of the necessary information to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement or to keep for tax purposes.
